New York-based studio and streaming network FilmRise has signed a licensing deal with Paul Brownstein Productions, for worldwide rights to classic TV programs including This is Your Life, The Friars Roasts, The Best of Groucho, The Mike Wallace Interview, and It’s a Living.  The deal includes SVOD, AVOD and FAST worldwide rights. This is the second licensing deal that FilmRise has done with Paul Brownstein Productions. The deal includes 89 episodes of This is Your Life, five specials of The Friars Roast, broadcast in the 60s on NBC’s Kraft Music Hall, 30 episodes of The Mike Wallace Interview, 50 episodes of The Best of Groucho, and the entire two seasons of It’s a Living. The deal was negotiated by Max Einhorn, SVP, Acquisitions & Co-Productions for FilmRise and Paul Brownstein of Paul Brownstein Productions.

Istanbul-based Atv introduced talent from two of their TV series at MIPCOM’s opening night on Monday at Le Majestic Hotel: A Little Sunshine’s Seray Kaya and Berk Oktay walked on the red carpet, together with the series producer, Ugur Turkmen. Also in attendance, The Father’s Oktay Kaynarca, Pelin Akil, Ebru Ozkan, and the director of the series, Onur Tan.

Bavaria Media has signed a distribution agreement with Portuguese production company SPi S.A. to handle world distribution of the series Codex 632 under its label Bavaria Media International. The six-part series is based on the bestseller of the same name by José Rodrigues dos Santos. Codex 632 is a co-production between SPi, Portuguese TV station RTP, and Brazilian streaming provider Globoplay, and is scheduled to premiere in 2023. The adventure series centers around the historical figure of Christopher Columbus and his origins.

France tv Distribution has sold drama feature About Sasha to Disney+ for broadcast in Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2023 (excluding France). The feature, produced by Jerico TV, won the Best Series Award at the Series Mania 2022 Festival. The movie follows Sasha, born with an intersex condition, as she arrives in a new high school and has to navigate her search of identity.

Paris-based production and distribution company Prime Entertainment Group has renewed their deal with German broadcaster ZDF info for Prime’s series Hollywood’s Stories. The factual series unveils the best-kept secrets and delves into the glitz, glamour, and well-known scandals of the entertainment industry. Each 26-minute episode covers topics such as the Harvey Weinstein scandal, the #Metoo movement, mysterious celebrity deaths, dramatic meltdowns, and the glamorous lifestyles of the rich and famous.
