After being canceled by ABC in May, CMT has swooped in to rescue Nashville. The series will return for a full 22-episode fifth season on the cable network, and will be streamed on Hulu a day after it airs. Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment produce the country music drama, which has brought on new showrunners Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick (Thirtysomething). Cast deals have not been made yet, so the extent of the lead roles, played by Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere, remains to be seen.
