London-based IMG will handle international sales for BBC America‘s new original scripted series Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. Slated to premiere in fall 2016, the series is based on the comic novels by Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy). The eight-episode comedic thriller is a co-production between AMC Studios, IDEATE MEDIA, and IDW Entertainment, with Circle of Confusion producing. Dirk Gently is follows the bizarre adventures of and eccentric detective Dirk Gently and his assistant Todd, as they find their way through one expansive mystery a season. Dirk Gently marks IMG’s expansion into entertainment sales, following their sales campaign for the BBC-AMC series The Night Manager.
