A+E Networks has signed broadcasters in over 50 territories around the world to air its Roots remake. The eight-hour event miniseries has been sold to broadcasters in each continent, including SBS (Australia), TVNZ (New Zealand), THAI PBS (Thailand), D’LIVE (South Korea), ATRES MEDIA (Spain), HBO (Spain – SVOD), HBO Europe (Central and Eastern Europe), HBO Nordics (SVOD), RTL (Netherlands), Crave (Canada), and HISTORY in Japan, Latin America, Southeast Asia, India and Africa.  Starting with the capture of Kunta Kinte in his homeland of The Gambia, Roots follows his transportation to colonial America where he is enslaved and follows his family’s fight against the adversity of slavery while witnessing and contributing to notable moments in U.S. history. The series is eveloped by HISTORY, and scheduled to simulcast in the U.S. on HISTORY, A&E and Lifetime beginning Monday, May 30, with A+E Studios International distributing.
