BBC Earth Films and SMG Pictures will team up to co-produce feature film Earth: One Amazing Day (working title). The movie is the first feature film to be created under the co-production treaty between the U.K. and China. Wang Jianjun, director-general and president of SMG and Paul Dempsey, president, Global Markets of the BBC Worldwide signed the agreement at an October 21 ceremony, during the Chinese state visit to the U.K. Under the deal, the new Sherlock special is expected to be released in cinemas in China as part of a global cinema event.
