The 82nd Golden Globe Awards were held last night at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles at a ceremony hosted by stand-up comedian Nikki Glaser and aired live on CBS.

The Spanish-language musical Emilia Pérez and the post-World War II drama The Brutalist were the top winners in the film category. Shōgun was the most awarded program in the television category.

Netflix’s Emilia Pérez won four awards: Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Supporting Actress to Zoe Saldana, Best Original Song, and Best Foreign Language Film.

The Brutalist, which tells the story of Hungarian Jewish architect Laszlo Toth, won three awards: Best Motion Picture Drama, Best Director to Brady Corbet, and Best Actor in a Motion Picture to Adrien Brody.

TV series Shōgun, set in 17th-century Japan, won Best Drama Series, Best Actor (Hiroyuki Sanada) and Actress (Anna Sawai) in a Drama Series, and Best Supporting Actor in a Series (Tadanobu Asano).

Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for his role in A Real Pain, and Demi Moore won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for The Substance .

In addition to these awards, special lifetime achievement awards were bestowed during a private Golden Gala dinner on Friday to Ted Danson, who received the Carol Burnett Award, and Viola Davis, who received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for achievement in film.
