Telemundo Deportes sports commentator Andres Cantor has been honored with the National Soccer Hall of Fame’s 2020 Colin Jose Media Award.

Cantor, the first Spanish-language broadcast personality to win the award, was recognized for his achievement during a special Telemundo Deportes broadcast on October 25, 2020. Hosted by Telemundo Deportes on-air talent Miguel Gurwitz, alongside Manuel Sol and Carlos Hermosillo, the award ceremony broadcasted across both Telemundo and Universo. It featured messages from U.S. soccer stars, including Carli Lloyd, Landon Donovan, Alex Morgan, and Jill Ellis, among others.

Ray Warren, president of Telemundo Deportes, stated, “We are so proud and honored to play a role in presenting the 2020 Colin Jose Media Award to our own Andres Cantor. To create this experience for him on-air is a testament to how much love and appreciation we all have for his work, his contributions to the network and his friendship.”

Cantor added, “The requirement to win this award is to have contributed to the coverage of the United States team, and we fervently believe that we have done so since its infancy. For that I am proud, and humbly accept this recognition. Thank you, U.S. Soccer; thank you, National Soccer Hall of Fame for this distinguished honor.”
