ViacomCBS Networks Americas (VCNA) signed a deal with Twitch to co-stream two Nickelodeon animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, on its social TV platform.
Twitch will stream Avatar and and The Legend of Korra in Latin America from October 26-29, 2020. Nickelodeon and MTV Latin America will assist in promoting the collaboration and encourage fans to head to Twitch.
Avatar originally aired on Nickelodeon from February 2005 to July 2008. It follows the adventures of Aang, as he masters the elements of water, earth, fire, and air. Set in the fictional world of Avatar, The Legend of Korra centers around Avatar Korra, the successor of Avatar Aang.
Manuel Reveiz, vice president of Content Distribution Management for ViacomCBS Americas, remarked, “This is the first time that ViacomCBS Americas partners with a social TV/gaming platform like Twitch, so we are very excited to bring Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra to gaming fans in the region via this platform. We are always focused on exploring and developing new and innovative partnerships, and this collaboration with Twitch is a clear example of that. We look forward to seeing what engaging content Twitch’s community will be able to create with the co-streaming of these two iconic shows.”
