Steve MacDonald, president, Global Content Sales and International, A+E Networks (pictured above), in his MIPCOM message to clients, reported to VideoAge that his company is presenting a catalog featuring 840 hours of content across multiple genres at MIPCOM 2020.
Complementing a premium content library of over 40,000 hours, the newest programs feature A-list talent, including a brand-new documentary strand hosted by Laurence Fishburne, biographies of internationally recognized stars, including Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, along with larger-than-life personality Wendy Williams, and the new competition series, Tim Allen’s Assembly Required.
These new productions join a line-up headlined by A+E’s latest documentary, Surviving Jeffrey Epstein, as well as new seasons of ratings-proven franchises, and a new best-in-class holiday movie collection, just in time for the coming season.
Hosted and narrated by Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Laurence Fishburne (Black-ish, John Wick, The Matrix, Apocalypse Now, and Boyz N The Hood), History’s Greatest Mysteries investigates a wide range of historically compelling topics and mysteries, including the Titanic, D.B. Cooper, Roswell, and John Wilkes Booth. Each program within the franchise showcases fresh, new evidence and perspectives, including documents never before released to the general public, personal diaries, and DNA evidence to unearth brand-new information about these infamous and enigmatic chapters in history.
Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne looks at who is the real Ozzy Osbourne. Is he the heavy metal madman, rocking out with Black Sabbath and biting heads off bats, or the befuddled patriarch of a reality sitcom family? This new two-hour documentary reveals the heart in the Prince of Darkness.
Kisstory, a factual biography of Starchild, Demon, Spaceman, and Catman, presents never-before-seen footage that shows how four rock-and-rollers in wild makeup spat blood, breathed fire, and became one of the bestselling bands of all time.
Wendy Williams made herself a household name with her larger-than-life personality. With the recent spotlight on her life, Wendy Williams: Hot Topic is an authorized special that lets the talk show star tell her story. From the overweight little girl who never felt like she belonged, to drug addiction, and a cheating husband, Wendy has never lost her ability to come out on top.
Tim Allen’s Assembly Required reunites Home Improvement stars Tim Allen and Richard Karn for a new competition series that spotlights the best builders from across the country. In their home workshops, these skilled individuals roll up their sleeves and compete to breathe new life into everyday household items in desperate need of fixing.
Surviving Jeffrey Epstein, a four-part documentary event from award-winning filmmakers, investigates how the elusive Epstein built a global network that preyed on young girls and women. Hear exclusive firsthand testimony from victims and close observers, listen to their shocking stories, and learn of the deep emotional and psychological impact Epstein had on these vulnerable individuals.
