Entertainment One (eOne) and Alibaba Pictures announced their first co-production together, Peppa Celebrates Chinese New Year.
eOne and Alibaba Pictures will co-produce the feature-length film. Based on the Peppa Pig series, the film incorporates several Chinese New Year traditions for young families celebrating the holiday.
Olivier Dumont, president of Family & Brands at eOne, commented, “We’ve worked closely with Alibaba Pictures to create content and cinema-themed merchandise with special cultural significance that will resonate with Chinese audiences.”
Distributed by Alibaba Pictures, Peppa Celebrates Chinese New Year will be released in China on February 5, 2019.
