ZEE TV’s parent company Essel Group is celebrating 90 years within the industry. To commemorate this milestone, Essel’s chairman, Dr. Subhash Chandra, donated more than one billion USD to the DSC Foundation, launched by India Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee. Chandra also announced the ‘Sarthi’ initiative, which aims to provide citizens with the proper knowledge of their rights, and its English global news network WION – World Is One News. In addition, Essel Group revealed the winners of the Zee Media Family Business Legacy Awards, which celebrate India’s oldest family-operated business.
