Ahead of its third season premiere, Amazon has renewed Transparent for a fourth season. Creator Jill Soloway will keep the role as showrunner, along with executive producer Andrea Sperling. The dramedy has been critically acclaimed, with Jeffrey Tambor (who stars as Maura Pfefferman) winning Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Emmy Award for his role as a transgender former professor who transitions later in life. Season three started filming in April, and is slated to premiere in fall. Season four is scheduled for a 2017 debut.
