BBC One has green lit a second season of Fifty Fathoms and Keshet U.K.’s drama The A Word. The renewal follows the critical success of the first season, which was one of the top ten most viewed programs on the BBC iPlayer. The first series will launch in the US on SundanceTV on July 13. The A Word, written by Peter Bowker, is about a family with an autistic young child. The first season, Bowker says, is about “diagnosis and denial,” while the next season will explore the journey of “going public” about autism. The series is based on the Keshet International and July August Productions drama Yellow Peppers which was written and created by Keren Margalit, who is also executive producer of the BBC One series.
