Last night Disney Media Distribution held its traditional International Upfronts at the Disney Studios and announced the following new series: American Housewife, a comedy about a strong-willed mother who’s raising her family in a wealthy town filled with “perfect” mothers and kids; Beyond, a drama that follows a young man wakes from a coma to discover he has supernatural abilities that entangle him in a conspiracy; Dead of Summer, a supernatural horror series based at a Midwestern summer camp in the 1980s; Still Star-Crossed, a period drama that picks up where Romeo and Juliet left off, charting the stories of the Montagues and Capulets; When We Rise, a re-telling of the gay rights movement in the U.S., starting with the Stonewall riots in 1969 (pictured).
