Warner Bros International TV is showcasing a diverse array of new scripted series, from meta satires to office comedies in the comic world. In this reimagining of the film Frequency, a female police detective discovers she can speak to her estranged (and dead) father through a radio. In Lethal Weapon, a Texas cop and former Navy SEAL moves to Los Angeles to start anew. Powerless is an office comedy that happens to be set in the world of DC Comics. Riverdale is based on the characters from Archie Comics, but set in the present day, it’s a surprising and subversive take on the gang and their supposedly wholesome lifestyles. Using the 1979 novel and movie Time After Time as a starting point, the series chronicles the adventures of a young H.G. Wells and his time machine. Training Day begins 15 years after the film left off. A young African-American police officer joins an elite LAPD squad and partners with a morally ambiguous detective. Trial & Error is a comedic take on the hot genre of murder trail documentaries like Making a Murderer.
