Cottonwood Media, ZDF and ZDF Enterprises are joining forces on a co-production deal for the premium, weekly drama series Paris Opera. The collaboration marks a first between the companies, and is Cottonwood’s first live-action show. The half-hour young adult drama follows Lena Grisky, a ballerina who travels back to Russia in 1905 to help manage the pains of coming of age in Paris 2016. The series, slated to premiere on ZDF in 2017, will be produced on location at the Paris Opera. Jill Girling and Lori Matter Welch (Ride) are showrunners, and producers include Federation Entertainment’s Pascal Breton (Marseilles) and Cottonwood founders Zoe Carrera, Cecile Lauritano and David Michel.
