A+E Networks’ format Seven Year Switch has debuted with high ratings on Seven Network in Australia. The format is a social experiment between dissatisfied couples that have been together for seven years. To combat their feelings of restlessness, they take part in “switch therapy,” swapping partners with a stranger for two weeks to find out if absence makes the heart grow fonder. Tuesday’s debut of Seven Year Switch delivered 1.3m total viewers, as the top show in its time slot and the second highest of the night. In addition to Australia, the format has been optioned in to Shine in France.
