Rod Roddenberry, president of Roddenberry Entertainment and son of the late Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, and COO Trevor Roth, will join the new Star Trek television series as executive producers. The new series, which marks the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, will launch with a special preview broadcast on the CBS Television Network in early 2017. The premiere episode and all subsequent first-run episodes will then be available exclusively in the United States on CBS All Access, the network’s digital SVOD and live streaming service, as the first series developed for the service. CBS Studios International will also distribute the next chapter in the Star Trek franchise concurrently for television and multiple platforms around the world.
