Discovery Communications has appointed Michael Lang as evp of International Development & Digital. In the newly created position, Lang will lead Discovery Networks International’s Corporate Development, and be responsible for both the strategy and execution of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and other equity-related transactions and third-party partnerships. As the company’s international digital leader, Lang also will work with Eurosport Player, Dplay and Discovery K!ds Play on the division’s digital strategy. Lang, who will assume his responsibilities in April based in London, will report to Bruce Campbell, Chief Development, Distribution & Legal Officer, and Jean-Briac Perrette, President, Discovery Networks International. Lang currently leads Lang Media Group, and previously worked as CEO of the film studio Miramax.
