Bryan Fuller, who launched his career writing for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, will return to the franchise as co-creator and executive producer of the new CBS Star Trek series. The CBS Television Studios-produced series, which coincides with Star Trek’s 50th anniversary, will launch in 2017 with a special preview broadcast on the CBS Television Network. The premiere episode and all subsequent first-run episodes will then be available exclusively in the U.S. on the network’s digital SVOD and live streaming service, CBS All Access. The new Star Trek series will be the first original series developed for CBS All Access.
