At NATPE 2016, A+E Networks and Trifecta Entertainment have announced the launch of Pawn Stars into the U.S. syndication market. The series takes place in a family-run pawnshop in Las Vegas, where three generations of the Harrison family buy and sell collectible, unusual and historically significant items. The franchise’s stars Rick Harrison and Chumlee made a first-time appearance at NATPE to support the partnership. Pawn Stars created a new pop culture genre, ‘artifactual’, which looks at history through a contemporary lens one object at a time. The series is among the most watched unscripted series on HISTORY. The global franchise has been sold in over 200 territories worldwide, and has been formatted in the U.K., Australia and South Africa.
