Walt Disney Co. and Univision are negotiating Disney’s exit from Fusion, their joint venture cable and digital news network aimed at millennials, reported the Wall Street Journal. Fusion was launched in October 2013, in the hopes of reaching a younger demographic of English-speaking Latinos, with Disney handling advertising and distribution and Univision in control of content. However, the network struggled to take off, losing $35 million in 2014. Univision is poised to take control of Fusion through buying out Disney’s stake.
