With cooperation from the Japan Foundation, Japan’s national public broadcaster NHK has exported drama serials abroad. NHK’s morning drama serials, which often depict the life of a woman protagonist, have been on air since the 60s. Carnation, based on the life of fashion designer Ayako Koshino, tells the story of a determined young girl with a dream, and follows her life as she juggles work and family. The series is lined up for broadcast in over 20 countries, including Nigeria, Romania, Mexico and Kazakhstan.
