Winners of NHK’s Japan Prize 2015, which honors international achievements in educational media, were announced today. The Grand Prix Japan Prize went to Our Colonial Hangover, a film that investigates anti-black racism in the Netherlands through the nation’s imperialist history and the tradition Black Peter Christmas character. In commemoration of the Japan Prize’s 50th anniversary, Milton Chen, George Auckland and Moneeza Hashmi were awarded the President of NHK Prize for their accomplishments in educational media.
