Turksat is the latest TV platform to be darkened by the government of Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Among the seven Turksat channels to be censored for political reason, is the children channel Yumurcak. The channels were darkened because they were perceived to be critical of president Erdogan, who’s facing an election in two weeks time. Previously, Erdogan censored four other TV channels on Digiturk. In addition, it was discovered that the aggressors of TV journalist Ahmet Hakan of CNN Turk were associated with Erdogan’s party, AKP.
