Broad Green Pictures and Imagine Entertainment will partner to produce and distribute an untitled film about the L.A. riots. Sparked by the acquittal of four LAPD officers who were tried for the beating of black motorist Rodney King, the riots challenged America’s perceptions on race, justice and economics. John Ridley, the Oscar-winning scribe for 12 Years a Slave, will direct the film from his own screenplay. Brian Grazer will produce.  The film will begin principal photography in spring 2016.
